The rear of the 5 Euro shows the twelve roses which represent the twelve countries of the European Union with the value of 5 Euro in the centre. On the 10 Euro coin, a newborn baby is shown, curled up fast asleep on a rosebud, enveloped in a globe and surrounded by the writing "Welcome Euro", a greeting to the new coin hurrying to enter our lives.
The three towers rising above the three feathers of San Marino make up the right side of both coins.
